Service Overview
Courses and/or programs designed to improve and assess the driving skills of older individuals. Participants are taught techniques to improve their skills as well as ways to avoid accidents and violations. Fee charged for classes and a referral from physician may be required for evaluations.
AARP - Senior Driving Program

Classroom driver improvement course specially designed for motorists age 50 and older. It is intended to help older drivers improve their skills while teaching them to avoid accidents and traffic violations. The course is taught in one 4-hour session and costs $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-members. Class fee is due at beginning of class.

Columbia St. Mary's Driver Evaluation Program
Role & Services
A clinical assessment includes medical history, mobility, coordination, visual skills, cognition/thinking process, and reaction testing. May include an on-the-road evaluation. Referral from physician required.
