Who We Serve

The Wisconsin Children's Code specifies legal parameters for our involvement with families and our jurisdiction over children alleged to be in need of protection and services or, who are at risk of abuse and neglect (Ch. 48.13). In addition, there are times that we provide services to children, youth and families on a voluntary basis when the child / youth has significant special needs. We provide services to all residents of Ozaukee County.

Call 9-1-1 if abuse is taking place at the time. For individuals under 18 who are experiencing SUICIDAL and/or HOMICIDAL thoughts call OZAUKEE COUNTY CRISIS INTERVENTION.

Ozaukee County Child Welfare is governed by Wisconsin's Children's Code, Wisconsin Statues Chapter 48 which specifies legal parameters for involvement with families and jurisdiction over children alleged to be in need of protection and services. Program services provide protection to children who are abused (physically, sexually, or emotionally), neglected (physically or emotionally) or at risk of abuse or neglect. In addition, there are times that we provide services to children, youth and families on a voluntary basis when the child/youth has significant special needs. We provide services to youth 0-17 who are Ozaukee County residents. Services provided include investigation of child abuse and neglect reports received, juvenile delinquency services, foster home licensing, kinship care services, CHIPS/JIPS disposition.
