• Track stream flows and rainfall amounts for your local community with continuously updated gauge readings - USGS website

• Be prepared with flood safety and other hazard information from FEMA (The Federal Emergency Management Agency)

• Construction in the floodplain usually requires a special permit from your city or the County. Special requirements apply when you are substantially improving your existing building (link is to the FEMA definition.)
