geological features and unique ecology and preserve plant and animal
diversity Directly protect surface and groundwater quality |

Provide for “Smart Growth” land use |
O pportunity
| A large parcel of undeveloped
land along the Lake Michigan shoreline is rare. Convenient public access
to diverse wetland, woodland and open grassland communities adjacent to
Lake Michigan is even more rare. Less tangible, but equally important,
preserving this key section of Lake Michigan shoreline will contribute
to the overall quality of life and maintain some unique native
vegetative, wildlife, ecological and geological habitats for future
generations. |
